Two of My Favorite Poses In This Infographic
One of my favorite poses in this series is the legs up the wall pose. This is a great stress reliever because it moved the circulation of the blood towards the upper body and the head. This creates a balance in the body after you have been sitting or standing for a long time. And Lord knows how much we are all sitting these days. We spend up to 8 hours a day in a static sitting position. So this pose is really refreshing for the body.
It truly puts you in the opposite position of what most of us are doing all day long. It’s like an inverted sitting position with your legs up the wall instead of on the floor.
A second pose that I love, and is easy to do and available for most people is the puppy pose. The reason I love this pose is because it opens up the heart and helps you relax. In addition, this pose opens up the shoulders and helps to reverse the effects of sitting and slouching which everyone does when sitting at the computer all day long.
Most of us don’t even realize how much our shoulders are constantly rolling forward while sitting at the computer. If someone took a picture of us, I think we’d be shocked at how much we’re slouching! Think of the puppy pose as a great way to counteract the terrible effects of slouching!
