Fat Loss Workouts

I am calling this section fat loss workouts instead of weight loss workouts for a reason. Most women when they talk about losing weight, what they are really talking about is losing FAT. It’s an ugly term, I know, but it’s the fat that we grab and pinch between our fingers in private when we scream, “HOW THE HECK DO I GET RID OF THIS FRIGGEN FAT!!!”

So the reason you are looking to work out is most likely because you want to lose the fat.  And, if you are like me, you don’t want to waste any time doing it, because, frankly, you don’t have the time to lose.  Sure, if you were a lady of leisure and could afford a personal trainer three hours a day, once for a morning workout and then again an evening workout, and then have someone else to make your food, we’d all look like Jennifer Anniston.  But reality check tells us that’s just not gonna happen for most of us in this lifetime.

So off to the gym, or the track, or your garage, or hit the trails.  You gotta MOVE….so now what do you do?  I can’t tell you how many times I walked into a gym, and looked around at all the machines, and just felt lost.  I had no plan, and so I wasn’t sure what would work best.  I’ve had quite  a few personal trainers, and I was trained well.  But no one EVER EVER told me about interval training, and how effect it was at losing fat.  And no one ever told me about the importance of strength training and how important it was for fat loss.

I only use INTERVAL training in my fat loss workouts, be it group or solo.  Why you ask?  Because it’s the most effective, takes the least amount of time and produces the fastest and best results in everyone’s body.  You get stronger, leaner, and lose fat the fastest through interval training.

This section is dedicated to various workouts that you can do, ON YOUR OWN, to maximize your time working out. I’m a HUGE fan of home workouts because there is really no excuse then to not work out.  I know a lot of women enjoy going to the gym, and I would not discourage you from going, but if you are like most women, you are going to get bored sooner or later with the gym, or  you’re going to get too busy to spend 20 minutes traveling there, 1-1/2 hours working out on the machines, and then 10 minutes to shower and 20 minutes back home.  That’s over two hours a day, and for busy moms that just won’t do.

I will give you 4-minute to 20-minute workouts that you can combo together for different length workouts.  I love 10 minute workouts, because you can fit them anytime, and there is just no reason to not work out.  You can do 10 in the morning and 10 at night if you are pressed for time.

You also need to make anything else you do, interval-like.  That means heart rate up, heart rate down, heart rate up, heart rate down…you get the idea.

Okay, let’s get started, pick one and go go go!!!
