Flaxseed oil is a fat that helps keep you slim!
Fat Fighting Flaxseed Oil Must Be In Your Fridge!
Yes, it’s true, eating the right types of fats can actually help you BURN fat. And flax seed oil makes the cut in a big way.
Flax seed oil (along with fish oil) is the richest sources of omega-3 Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs) – ALA, EPA and DHA. And like the flaxseeds that the oil is derived from, it is rich in lignans, which aid your body with hormone-related issues.
Eating heart-healthy fats like flaxseed oil has many benefits:
- Helps to control your appetite by keeping you full longer
- Improves brain function
- Protects your heart
- Protects your body from chronic disease
- Promotes healthy skin and nails
- Helps with constipation
Flax seed oil is sold in a dark bottle, and is found in the refrigerated supplement section. Remember that this oil must be kept refrigerated at all times to preserve its nutrient content, flavor and keep it from going rancid.
Flax seed oil should not be heated, so do not use it for cooking. To add it to your diet, you can put it in your protein shake or sprinkle on your salads, grains or veggies.
I personally love to drizzle just plain flax seed oil on a sweet potato with a little a bit of salt.
But be mindful, because no matter which oil you choose, you still have to pay attention to how much you use. Just because you are using a healthy fat does not mean it’s a ”license to spill.” Sprinkle, drizzle, teaspoon it… use is wisely.
