How To Eat Healthier: 3 Simple Steps to Get You Started Today!

Step 1:  Start drinking more water by starting your day with water.  I know you’ve heard this over and over again, that you need to be drinking enough water, but are you actually keeping track of how much water you are drinking?  Keeping track of the amount of water you’re drinking will dramatically change your relationship with water.

What you can do is to start your day with 32 ounces of water.  I know it seems like a lot, but get a big 32 ounce cup, and fill it up in the morning.  Start drinking it when you get up, while you’re making coffee and getting the kids off to school, and getting dressed.  This water should be consumed within the first hour of your day.

Then fill up a pitcher with 64 ounces of water.  You can use this water to drink plain, to make your smoothies, or to make your tea.

Step 2: Start filling up on fiber early in the day.  I know it may seem strange, but if you start eating veggies for breakfast you will find that you are less hungry throughout the day and less likely to binge later on.  One way to do this is to have a salad for breakfast.  Yes a salad!  You can either eat a breakfast salad or you can make a blender salad, or just grill up some veggies and have them with your eggs in the morning.  Just by adding vegetables and bulk to your diet earlier in the day you will be less likely to binge on snacks later in the day that do your body no good.

Step 3:  Eliminate sugar from your diet.  I know eliminating sugar may be the toughest step to take, but it’s really one of the most important important things you can do to start eating healthier.  You MUST eliminate refined sugar.  You have to STOP drinking sodas, eating cookies, cakes, breads, anything that contains sugar.  This does not mean you can add artificial sweetener, that is NO better for you than sugar.  You have to eliminate both refined sugar and artificial sweeteners.  You can have Stevia in your coffee or tea.  Start to read labels, if it contains sugar, get rid of it.
