Hi you guys, since a lot of women want to know how to speed metabolism, I want to talk to you about something that I’ve heard come up in quite a few conversations lately, and that’s about Vitamin D deficiency. I’ve talked to some women who have been told by their doctor that they should be taking a vitamin D supplement because they’re deficient in vitamin D.  Now this is interesting to note, because in many of these cases, these are women who are also having trouble with weight loss and their metabolism and are looking for a metabolism booster.
So what exactly does vitamin D do and how do you get it? Vitamin D is important in preventing heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis and many types of cancers. But it also plays a key role in fat and sugar metabolism and in your post workout recovery by decreasing inflammation.

 

How To Speed Your Metabolism Using the Power of the Sun

Your body uses the sun to help produce its own vitamin D, but many people don’t get outside enough anymore because they have lengthy indoor jobs, and they’re always sitting at their desks.  Then, if and when they do go outside they’re slathered from head to toe in sunscreen which will prevent vitamin D absorption.

So what can you do about this? You can spend about 10 to 15 minutes outside, three days a week. That will give you about 800 to 1000 International Units (IUs) of vitamin D per day. That has to be unprotected sun exposure. 10 to 15 minutes per day. So what you can do is to take your lunch break outdoors or you can go for a stroll. 10 to 15 minutes a day.

How to Speed Metabolism with Vitamin D Rich Foods

2 egg yolksAnother thing that you can do is you can supplement your diet with foods that are rich in vitamin D. Things like salmon, mackerel, sardines, and foods like cod liver oil, which is really high in vitamin D, and egg yolks. Yes, include the yolk in your eggs. Don’t always just have egg whites.  You can throw in the yolks too.  A lot of times I like to use three to four egg whites with two egg yolks.  That makes the perfect omelette.
