  • You Have To Eat Well
  • Don’t Deprive Yourself
  • Fit It In Exercise THROUGHOUT The Day
  • Practice Portion Control

Clean eating basically means you don’t eat foods that are processed.  You eat foods that have ONE ingredient, like fruits, vegetables, lean proteins.  Clean eating is not hard to do, so don’t psych yourself out and think it’s too hard before you try.

Clean eating is truly something you can train yourself to do by shopping the outside aisles of your grocery store and reading labels and learning about the what the bad ingredients are!

You Have To Eat Well

Yes, you have to eat well… MOST OF THE TIME. That means you mostly have to make good choices. That starts with EATING CLEAN MOST of the time.

Don’t Deprive Yourself

Depriving yourself of the foods you love all the time just plain makes you feel BAD! You gotta give in sometimes. Have that chocolate chip cookie, don’t have five! Have a slice of pizza or a glass of wine. If you deprive yourself too much, you are eventually going to fail and give into life and food and the things that you love.

So eat smart… do not eat with limited thinking! You can have anything and everything you want, in MODERATION!

Once you ALLOW yourself to be free to eat all the fun things you love, in moderation, you will no longer have that fear of food calling on you!

“In between scenes we would squeeze in 15 minutes of exercise – things we could do on the fly like squats and lunges,” says Wong. This led the trainer to incorporate the same principles in his book. “By taking 15 minutes to do something for your body that makes you feel good. You don’t just get an instant lift, you build a lasting change.” read more at greatideas.people.com

Fit In Exercise THROUGHOUT The Day

Maybe you don’t have time to exercise for an hour? If that’s the case, then do whatever you can to fit in exercise throughout the day. This means that you do “mini” workouts throughout the day. Like, take the stairs, park farther away in the parking lot and walk more. Stand up from your desk and do some squats. Keep small weights handy by your desk and grab them and do some lunges. Get an exercise band and wrap that puppy around a sturdy piece of furniture and do some combo moves like rows with squats. Get clever! Think of all the things that you can do to fit in exercise EASILY.

One exercise that I absolutely love, burns fat fast, and only takes FOUR measly minutes is Tabata. You can always fit in a quickie Tabata Workout!

Practice Portion Control

This is really really really important… PORTION control. How much are you eating of whatever you are eating!

In the US we have been conditioned to think that a portion is pretty much two or three times what it should be. We have also been brainwashed into thinking we need to eat a HUGE dinner, and that’s just not true.

You should be having your largest meal at breakfast. Your lunch should be medium, and your dinner, well frankly, should be SMALL! Since you are going to bed, and you want your body to focus on sleep not on digestion!

So think in terms of eating breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper!

That’s really it ladies. There is no special “magic” other than being really determined to make the changes.

Make one change at a time. You don’t have to do all four things at once if it’s too overwhelming.

They say it takes 30 days to create a new habit.

So pick one thing from the list above and do it for one month. Let’s say you start by adding in exercise each day. Then add on another item, like portion control, and do both for the next month. And keep adding on… then in four months’ time, you will have made dramatic changes that WILL last a lifetime.

You got this!
To your total health and wellness!
Laura.
