Bread lovers unite! Because if Oprah can eat bread, well that just means that all of us can do it too!!!

Winfrey, who recently turned to Weight Watchers’ calorie-counting points system, tweeted to her 30 million followers on Tuesday a Weight Watchers commercial in which she says that she’s having success without depriving herself of bread. Yep, she even tweeted about it and made like $12 million dollars in one tweet!

What Happens When Oprah Admits To Eating Bread?

It gets everyone in a mega-tailspin.  Everyone is now running out for bagels and sandwiches.

They are diving into that bread basket on the table before dinner.

SLOW DOWN EVERYONE!

Okay, now with all kidding aside here. Let me explain something…

Bread is not the PROBLEM. Bread has NEVER been the problem.

The problem with bread is this…

  • HOW MUCH BREAD YOU EAT
  • WHEN YOU EAT BREAD
  • WHAT YOU EAT WITH THE BREAD
  • WHAT TYPE OF BREAD YOU ARE EATING

I Actually Love Bread MORE than OPRAH!

Okay, I’m just being honest here! I may not be as famous as Oprah but the fact remains… I love bread too!

I eat bread every single day!

There is no food I ever missed more in all of my trials and tribulations with dieting, than bread! Hey I’m Italian and bread is actually in our DNA.  (I believe that’s true, but may have to check my facts on that one…”

But I do want to share a little secret.  I USED to be afraid of bread too.  Yep, just like most people in the 90s, I was got the bejeebers scared of out of me too!

Bread was the enemy.   I remember my mom making these weird fake rolls, she called them “idiot rolls” out of egg whites and something else, and we made our sandwiches with them!

But what Oprah did in her one single tweet for the people of the world was to take away the FEAR of eating bread.

Fast forward to my eating regimen of the past many years…

I have no problem with weight gain when I eat moderate amounts of healthy bread and neither will you.

Yes, she took away the fear, the stigma, the notion that if a slice of bread passes your lips your gonna get FAT!

It’s just not true.

There are ways you can have your “bread and eat it too!”
