Your kids clamor for them.

They scream at you from the aisles of the grocery store.

They practically embarrass you into buying these snacks for them.

But did you know that a lot of the popular kids snacks that we “lovingly” give to our kidlets are LOADED with cancer causing chemicals????  YES, as a mom, you need to know about every single one of the popular snacks that are toxic to your kids.

You need to read the labels on EVERYTHING you give to your babies!

The snack foods that are marketed for children can have anything from cancer causing artificial coloring to the unbelievable, petroleum products! ! Petroleum is the same ingredient that is used to make up oil and gas. Commonly used food dyes, such as Yellow 5, and Red 40 are made from petroleum and pose serious health problems. I know you wouldn’t knowingly want to give your children petroleum to eat!  For heaven’s sake, it’s like giving them a dropperful of gasoline!

But the fact of the matter is that many of the snacks that your kids love and get addicted to have petroleum ingredients.  YESSSSS they do!!!

And petroleum is the same ingredient that is used to make up oil and gas. Common food dyes, like Yellow #5 and Red #40 are actually made from petroleum.  And even though the FDA says it’s under the “concern threshold” why in the world would anyone want to take a chance.

I mean if someone said to you, “Just give your child a 1/4 teaspoon of gasoline…”  would you do it!  OF COURSE NOT!!!

You know there are a gazillion alternatives for good snacks.  The best snacks for them take just one ingredient…

  1. Apples
  2. Carrots
  3. Raisins
  4. Grapes
  5. Bananas

Homemade Banana Chip Ice Cream

One of my favorite snacks to make myself and for my hubby is “banana chocolate chip ice cream”

It has literally 2 ingredients…Frozen Bananas and Raw cacao nibs.

Just take a frozen banana and put it in the Vitamix or Blender, blend it slowly until it’s of a creamy consistency.  Once it’s blended, toss in a heaping teaspoon of Raw Organic Cacao Nibs.

I am telling you, you will be hard-pressed to tell the difference between this little snack and ice cream!

You can get your raw cacao nibs at the Mother’s or Whole Foods or most any health food store.

The cacao nibs give the “ice cream” a really nice crunch and the cold mixed with the crunch is the best!

So please please please, start to read every ingredient in the candies your kids crave.  They could be getting addicted to poisons and that’s just what the manufacturers are hoping for!
