3 Natural Antibiotics In Your Kitchen
3 Natural Antibiotics In Your Kitchen
Did you know that natural antibiotics are sitting right in your kitchen cupboards?!
With cold and flu season being crazy this year, it’s important to keep in mind that there are things that you can do help make you feel better fast! These simple remedies will keep you from having to run to the doctor for an antibiotic that you may not even need.
The problem is that a lot of people run straight to the doctor when they’re sick. They don’t realize that if they just have a heavy duty cold caused by a virus, they don’t need an antibiotic.
All you need to do is to let the virus run its course. And… drink plenty of WATER!
You can take things to make you more comfy during the process. But the use of an antibiotic is not going to work any magic on a simple virus.
Long before there were pharmaceutical antibiotics – developed in the 1940s, there were foods and herbs that helped guard against infection and disease on a daily basis. Many of these natural defenders are still in use today with holistic healers around the globe. Read more at healthy-holistic-living.com
The Creation of the Super Bug
Antibiotics work to kill “bacterial” infections. Which a lot of people DON’T have when they run to the doc for a cold.
However, to make things worse, what has happened is that bacteria have become increasingly “antibiotic-resistant” because so many people have been taking antibiotics are when they don’t need them. Also, a lot of people who get antibiotics for a cold start to feel better (which has nothing to do with the antibiotic) and they stop taking them, which makes the bacteria super happy!
This overuse of antibiotics has helped bacteria get more and more drug-resistant, creating “super bugs.” These super bugs are getting to the point where the antibiotics have no effect on them because they build resistance over time when people are taking antibiotics for no good reason.
3 of My Favorite Kitchen Remedies
Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar uses are abundant. Apple cider vinegar has natural antibiotic and antiseptic properties. Apple cider vinegar is also a natural alkalizing agent which can help you lose weight and fight disease. You can add apple cider vinegar to your salad dressings or just make a yummy “cocktail” of 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar, warm water and a tablespoon of honey and sip and enjoy its natural healing properties.
Garlic
I know garlic can be stinky, but that is what gives it’s powerful antibiotic benefits. The main property of garlic, allicin, can fight infection, and protect against bacteria and parasites. Allicin has an antimicrobial effect. You can add garlic to your salad dressings, pastas and believe it or not, some people actually add it to their fresh pressed vegetable juices!
Turmeric
I can’t rave enough about turmeric! It’s truly my favorite spice. You can eat turmeric to fight bacteria, and you can also use it externally to fight bacteria. One great way I like to add turmeric to my daily diet is by juicing fresh turmeric root. Here’s a recipe for my favorite turmeric root juice!
