“Falling in Love”
In my 20’s, after moving to California from the East Coast, and living in the perfect sunny Southern California climate, I started running, and fell seriously in love. Once again, it was the way that running made me feel that got me hooked. It was in California that I ran my first 5K and 10K races just for the fun of it. |
After getting married, becoming a mother of two children and running a business full-time I always found a way to fit fitness into my day. For 30 years I have managed to keep to my fitness routine while juggling the busy schedules of work, family and social commitments that most women deal with every day. |
Hungry Mouths to Feed
After my children were born, feeding them high quality foods, with as little sugar, preservatives or artificial ingredients as possible was a top priority. I knew it was up to me to buy what they put in their mouths, so I was always conscious of making the best choices. I taught them how to read food labels, and be aware of hidden food traps. I didn’t buy things like sodas or sugary cereals, because I knew I had to be a nutrition example to my children so when were on their own they would continue to be conscious of the way they fed their bodies. |
Variety is the Spice of Fitness
I have kept myself interested in fitness by trying lots of new things along the way. From Ashtanga Yoga to Bikram Yoga, from Running, Swimming, Biking, Hiking and Zumba to Strength Training. There are so many ways to keep fit that I never get bored. I always manage to get my workouts in, no matter how busy I am because I made my own health a priority. I love to teach women how they can get a great workout in the shortest time possible, because everyone is very bizzie!!! |
The Latest Chapter
With all the variety of exercises I have tried, running has always remained a top passion. Last year I ran two half marathons, and then my first full marathon, the L.A. Marathon. It had been a dream of mine for many years, and it was such a thrill to cross the finish line at 26.2 miles. I am also a Certified Fitness Trainer, and I love helping people get in shape. I love seeing someone realize their fitness goals, and seeing the smile on their face when they realize that they can do so much more than they thought they were capable of!
